Chili Drive

Wow! During our October Chili Drive, residents and staff generously donated a total of 986 cans of chili, making a meaningful contribution to All Kids Win.

All Kids Win, formerly Homeless Backpacks, is a non-profit organization that provides food for the weekend to homeless teens in Thurston County. Some teens are in government-supported meal programs during the school day but lack access to food on the weekend. Each week, volunteers deliver food bags to local middle and high schools in Lacey, Tumwater and Olympia, as well as K-12 in Yelm, Rainier, Tenino and Rochester. Chili is an excellent, shelf-stable, source of protein, and the most expensive item included in the backpacks.

Fall Festival!

Our Fall Festival this year was an absolute hit, filled with laughter, joy and fun! From the enchanting Pumpkin Parade to the festive Halloween Happy Hour, the cozy S’mores event, the cider press demonstration in Assisted Living, Spirit Week, and a variety of other activities, there was no shortage of fun for both residents and staff!

A true standout was our very first Trunk-or-Treat event! Children of staff had a blast visiting the Panorama bus and resident-decorated trunks, while also enjoying the opportunity to connect with residents in Assisted Living and the C&R.

Also, a special shout-out to our Grounds Department for their stunning annual pumpkin display—it was truly a sight to see!

These campus happenings are always a reminder of the vibrant sense of community that makes our campus truly special. It’s a chance to create new memories, embrace seasonal traditions and strengthen the bonds that bring us together.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2024 – Purplest Pooch Contest!

As always, this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s was both impactful and moving, bringing together countless individuals united in a common cause. Team Panorama truly shone, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to the day’s success. It was heartwarming to see such strong support from the community, with friends, families and pets coming together to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s.

We were proud to serve as the Purplest Pooch sponsor once again! Many dogs joined in the fun, sporting their finest purple attire, which added a joyful touch to the event. It was wonderful to see so many furry friends strutting their stuff and posing for photos for a chance to win a $100 gift card to MudBay.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this meaningful event! Watch the video below for some highlights!

Back to School Supply Drive 2024

Each year, we look forward to our Back to School Supply Drive with great enthusiasm. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community and support students in their educational journey.

Our 2024 Drive recently wrapped up! We’re thrilled that students at North Thurston Public Schools will be more prepared to return to school with the supplies they need to succeed, thanks to the generous donations from our residents and staff! All contributions were delivered to the North Thurston Public School’s Family and Youth Resource Center.

Bloomin’ Arts

Residents and staff were recently invited to join the Arts Guild in a celebration of creativity held in our Pea Patch. The Bloomin’ Arts event was a delightful feast for the senses. It allowed attendees the opportunity to wander through beautiful flower gardens, enjoy poetry readings and explore impressive displays of 2D and 3D art, all while the air was filled with sweet melodies of live music.

In this shared space of creativity and expression, the celebration served as a reminder of the transformative power of art to uplift, inspire and connect us all. It is a testament to the beauty that emerges when we open our hearts and minds to the endless possibilities of artistic exploration.

Skilled Nursing Week

“The 2024 National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) theme, Radiant Memories – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio, embraces a time when the airwaves resonated with captivating stories and melodies. More than nostalgia, “Radiant Memories” is a call to honor the enduring legacy of skilled nursing care centers. In these centers, residents and staff contribute to the creation of radiant memories, akin to the cherished moments shared through music and stories over the radio waves.”

Celebrating Skilled Nursing Week is a wonderful way to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our skilled nursing staff who play a crucial role in providing quality care to our patients. Throughout the enjoyable week of May 12-18, we honored our nursing staff and residents by hosting a diverse range of fun activities and offering many treats!

Volunteer Spotlights

Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 22-26) is a special time dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the incredible contributions of those who give their time. One way we’ve chosen to honor the importance of the week is through spotlighting a few dedicated resident volunteers. The showcase below intends to illustrate the wide spectrum of volunteer opportunities within our community. Our campus thrives on the invaluable efforts of volunteers who leave a lasting impact year-round.

These spotlights represent the collective spirit of giving back that defines the culture here at Panorama!

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has sprung at Panorama! The trees are blossoming, the birds are chirping, and the sun is making more of an effort to break through the clouds. Our campus is beautiful year-round, but it truly shines in the spring!

Did you know?

Over the past 60+ years, our 140 acres have grown to include more than 2,000 distinct varieties of trees, flowering shrubs, and perennials. Now, our campus is one of the largest residential arboretums in Washington State!

Spread the Love PB Drive

Annual Peanut Butter Drive

Peanut butter is one of the Food Bank’s most requested items and is a dependable, protein packed go to food item. Because of its nutritional value, long shelf life, versatility and popularity
with children and adults alike, peanut butter is an essential item to those struggling with hunger.

We recently wrapped up our “Spread the Love” Peanut Butter Drive benefiting the Thurston County Food Bank. Our residents and staff donated 360 jars altogether! We’re so grateful for their support!

Dancing with the Panorama Stars!

Our fourth annual Dancing with the Panorama Stars event hosted by the Utah
Ballroom Dance Company was a night to remember! Paired with a professional
dancer, residents and staff came together to showcase their dancing skills and
creativity in a fun-filled happening that brought joy and entertainment to
participants and onlookers alike.

This year’s theme was popular movies and the performances were surely
amusing- to say the least! The judges provided comical and constructive
feedback as each pair brought their own style and flair.
