Endless Opportunities

Resident Interest Groups

Over 100 interest and hobby groups are available here! Residents have started most of these groups and are always coming up with new ideas. If a resident doesn’t see what they’re looking for, we encourage them to help bring something new to Panorama.

  • Map Your Neighborhood:

This is a program designed to help neighborhoods prepare for disasters. It builds and strengthens disaster readiness among neighbors. Each district has been divided into smaller neighborhoods and has a captain or captains who get people together annually to review the program and update
information.

  • Memory Cafe:
An inclusive social gathering for people living with memory loss, their care partners and neighbors to engage and connect at Panorama. This gathering is generously sponsored by the Office of Philanthropy and hosted by Independent Living Services.
  • Green Team:
This group encourages residents and the Corporation to be environmentally sensitive, to use energy and water resources wisely, and through education, to reduce our “carbon footprint” and create a healthier place to live and work.
  • Arts Guild:

This group shares, supports, and encourages participation in the arts for the benefit of Panorama residents. Their goals are to promote and cultivate the fun and creativity of artistic pursuits, encourage collaboration and sharing among Panorama art groups and individual artists.

  • Bike Group:
This group meets every Saturday and participants come on foot, on cycles or in cars, depending on the weather, their physical condition, and personal preference.
  • Computer Learning Center:
The CLC has 5 MAC computers and 8 PC’s. The PC’s all have Windows 10. The MAC’s have several different Operating Systems on the. There are a number of scanners and printers at the CLC as well as several printers.
  • Photography Group:
The PPG is a place to learn new techniques, explore shooting locations, and share photos and experiences with people of all skill levels and a wide range of equipment, from phone cameras to sophisticated DSLRs.
  • Walk the Loop:
Individual or small group strolls around half-mile Circle Loop every Wednesday, May through August. Trivia questions are posted along the route. Most participants wear yellow ‘Walk the Loop Group’ shirts. It’s not a race or contest, but an opportunity to socialize and enjoy pleasant weather.
  • After Eight:

This group helps residents host or initiate a wide variety of social events and adventures. These very occasionally take place outside of normally scheduled hours (hence its name), and include on- and off-campus events, excursions, dining opportunities, and get-togethers.

  • Chorus:

This Chorus was organized to provide residents with a platform for choral and individual musical study and performance. Consisting of more than 60 members, the chorus offers two concerts per year in December and May.

  • Reader’s Theatre:
This group has become quite popular on Panorama’s campus. Some 40+ active members collaborate on a variety of productions … from multi-act plays to poetry fests to staged reading of lyrical essays.
  • Tillicum Guild:
Going strong for over 47 years at Panorama, they make handmade items such as quilts, baby afghans, hats, sweaters, dolls, balls, blankets, etc, and many more items for the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Take a Hike

Panorama offers a hiking and walking program created to help residents explore and discover our beautiful environment in a safe and fun manner. Residents also learn a little about our local history and botany while making connections with new friends along the way. Watch the video to see our hikers in action.
